Know before you go

Reservations and fees
Many tasting rooms pour flights or single glasses, and each winery sets its own packages. Check with the ones you plan to visit about fees and reservations.
Getting there
Palisade sits just off Exit 42 on Interstate 70. If you would rather skip mountain driving, a train runs to Grand Junction and local tour companies can cover the rest.
Best time to visit
Late summer and fall bring peach and wine festivals and fall color in the vineyards. Days run warm and nights cool.
Getting around
Three Fruit & Wine Byway loops (5, 7 and 25 miles) suit cars or bikes, and the 7-mile west loop passes the most wineries. Plan a designated driver, a rideshare or a tour.

Annual festivals celebrate peaches, Colorado wine, bluegrass and lavender, and the town's events also include a farmers market and a honeybee festival.
