Wineries in Maine
Maine has no federally designated American Viticultural Area (AVA), and the Maine Winery Guild's Maine Wine Trail is one statewide map. Visit Maine's wine pages point to wineries along the coast and in the MidCoast, Lakes & Mountains and Maine Highlands regions. The University of Maine's Undiscovered Maine guide also lists wineries in Downeast Maine and in Aroostook County, the state's northernmost county. Cold winters can injure vines, so cold-hardy hybrid grapes are among those grown. Blueberries and other fruit go into wine too, and some wineries make wine from grapes sourced elsewhere. Plan a designated driver, a rideshare or a tour for each tasting day.
Cruv groups places by wine region where a state has established ones, and Maine has none in its list yet. Open the app to see every place Cruv lists here on the map, with what is open now and upcoming events.
