South Carolina has no federally designated American Viticultural Area (AVA). The wineries are spread out: in the Upstate, near the Blue Ridge Mountains; inland, between the mountains and the coast; and along the coast, from the Myrtle Beach area to the Lowcountry. Many make sweet wine from muscadine, a grape native to the Southeast, and some make wine from fruit such as peaches and blueberries. Plan a designated driver, a rideshare or a tour for each tasting day.
Cruv groups places by wine region where a state has established ones, and South Carolina has none in its list yet. Open the app to see every place Cruv lists here on the map, with what is open now and upcoming events.
