Know before you go

Reservations
Some tasting rooms need a reservation and others take walk-ins, and the Oregon Wine Board's directory shows which. Confirm current hours and visit details on each winery's own website.
Getting there
Portland International Airport is in the city, and MAX light rail connects it with downtown. Many tasting rooms are in city neighborhoods, so you can get between them without a car.
Best time to visit
May is Oregon Wine Month, and some tasting rooms hold harvest parties. January through March, Cellar Season, is quieter, with fewer crowds than summer and harvest.
Getting around
Walking, biking and transit all work between neighborhood tasting rooms, and the Oregon Wine Board's directory can filter for transit access and bike-friendly spots. If you're driving, plan a designated driver or a rideshare.

Winemaker-led tastings, paired dinners, classes and harvest parties are on the calendar, and Oregon Wine Month in May brings promotions and celebrations.
