Know before you go

Reservations and fees
Groups of eight or more should reserve ahead, ideally two weeks out. Confirm each winery's hours and tasting fees before you go; many also serve snacks or meals.
Getting there
Erie County, Pennsylvania, is about 90 minutes from Cleveland or Buffalo on Interstate 90, and about 2 hours from Pittsburgh on Interstate 79. Erie International Airport is about 10 minutes from downtown Erie.
Best time to visit
Wineries are open year-round, though hours may change with the season. Fall harvest, mid-August through mid-November, is the most popular time; weekdays are suggested for a less busy visit.
Getting around
Wineries sit along roughly 50 miles of shoreline in two states, so allow about an hour per stop. Plan a designated driver, a rideshare or a tour; rideshare reaches only some areas.

Participating wineries offer food and wine pairings during annual harvest weekends, and member wineries host live music and other events through the year.
