Know before you go

Reservations
Many wineries here are small, and some pour only on certain days; larger groups should call ahead.
Tasting fees
Fees vary by winery. On Bainbridge Island and the Kitsap Peninsula, ask whether a local wine pass covering tastings at participating wineries is available.
Getting there
Many of Seattle's urban tasting rooms can be reached by bus or on foot. For Bainbridge and other ferry-served islands, check sailing times before you set out.
Best time to visit
Plan ferry and island trips for summer, when it is usually fairly warm and dry; most rain falls from November through April.
Getting around
Outside Seattle, wineries are more spread out. Wherever you taste, plan a designated driver, a rideshare or a tour.

Seattle's urban wineries hold wine walks and new-release events.
