Know before you go

Reservations
Many Red Mountain wineries pour by appointment, so call ahead. Some also run tasting rooms in other cities, so check the address before you set out.
Tasting fees
Fees differ between wineries, and some drop the fee if you take home a bottle.
Getting there
The Tri-Cities are about 3 to 3.5 hours by car from Seattle or Portland. Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco has commercial flights.
Best time to visit
Come in spring or in September and October for seasonal winery events. Red Mountain is among Washington's warmest growing areas and is very dry, so bring water and sun protection in summer.
Getting around
Plan a designated driver, a rideshare or a chauffeured wine tour.

Spring barrel tastings come with food pairings, and harvest events bring live music and food trucks.
