Know before you go

Reservations
Some wineries pour by appointment only, while others recommend booking and take walk-ins when there's room. Book ahead, especially in peak season.
Tasting fees
Some wineries refund or waive the fee with a purchase, sometimes only above a set minimum.
Getting there
About 4 hours by car from Seattle, Portland or Boise, 2.5 hours from Spokane and 45 minutes from the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco. The regional airport is five minutes from downtown.
Best time to visit
Harvest in valley vineyards typically starts in early September and ends by late October. Plan around the spring and fall release weekends for new wines, or early December's holiday barrel weekend for barrel tastings.
Getting around
Downtown tasting rooms are easy to explore on foot, and the other districts are a short drive apart, so book a tour, plan a rideshare ahead or choose a designated driver.

Across the valley, wineries hold open houses, barrel tastings and winemaker dinners.
